Our Partners in Jordan
Ahel Community Organizing
Ahel is a civil society organization that supports other partners within our so-called partner ecosystem with local organizing. This means they help our partners strengthen rights-holders and marginalized groups, ensuring their voices are heard and enabling them to drive change within their communities.
Beit Khairat Souf
Beit Khayrat Souf is a project that supports young women and girls who have experienced gender-based violence, particularly economic oppression, and have lost basic social and economic protection. The project is run by a group of women in Souf, Jerash, who create jobs and improve living conditions through local resources.
Namaa (The Women’s Association for Cultural Development)
Namaa is a non-profit organization in Jordan, founded by women in 2005, that works to strengthen women’s roles in society and increase their influence in decision-making. Namaa strives for a just world where the rights of women and girls are respected, and where both young men and women contribute to sustainable development. The organization works to give women and youth a stronger voice in the economy, politics, society, and culture, and is also engaged in combating climate change.
Zikra
Zikra is an agricultural initiative in Jordan aimed at strengthening and developing the agricultural sector, particularly wheat production. The organization works towards achieving food sovereignty and increased self-sufficiency in the country. The goal is to improve both the quality and productivity of wheat harvests and to improve conditions for farmers and workers. Previously, these farmers were self-sufficient in wheat, but due to government restrictions, taxes, and economic pressures, many have lost their knowledge and ability to continue wheat cultivation.
