Clean up Nepal

Clean up Nepal is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 that works for cleaner environments, healthier air and water, and more conscious communities. They focus on improving waste management, water and sanitation solutions, and raising awareness for a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. Through education and collaboration, they empower local communities and other stakeholders to find long-term solutions.

Dalit Development Society

Dalit Development Society (DDS) is a non-profit organization founded in 2001 by young Dalit activists in Salyan, Nepal. They work to improve the social, economic, health, and educational situations of the Dalit people, as well as poor, marginalized groups, women, and children. DDS strives for a fair and non-discriminatory society through development and good governance.

Dalit Social Development Center (DSDC)

Dalit Social Development Center (DSDC) is a non-profit organization based in Kapilvastu, Nepal, founded in 2004 by Dalit people. They fight against caste-based discrimination, gender discrimination, violence, and harmful traditions like child marriage, as well as injustices towards women, girls, LGBTQI+ individuals, and marginalized groups. DSDC works at the local level in remote areas, focusing on education, gender equality, human rights, social inclusion, food security, children’s rights, and climate adaptation.

Freed Kamalari Development Forum

The Freed Kamalari Development Forum organizes former Kamalaris (women who were child slaves working for wealthy landowners in exchange for their parents’ debt) so they can claim their rights within society. FKDF runs 42 cooperatives that impact the living standards of approximately 12,000 people and provides education for 1,300 girls and young women.

Social Service Centre (SOSEC)

SOSEC Nepal is a non-profit organization founded in 1997 to improve the social, economic, and cultural situation of vulnerable groups in rural areas. They work independently of political parties and focus on strengthening marginalized groups, Dalit communities, women, and ethnic minorities. SOSEC supports local communities by encouraging them to raise their own issues and participate in planning interventions that meet their needs.

Yuwalaya (Youth Organisation)

Yuwalaya is a non-profit, youth-led organization in Nepal that works with youth and teenagers to help them reach their full potential. Founded in 2013, the organization’s members have been working with children and youth for over a decade. Yuwalaya serves as a bridge between youth and children’s club members, focusing on resolving conflicts between them and other organizations. The goal is to strengthen the youth’s capacity for a dignified life and promote their participation in Nepal’s development.
